October TEACH meeting! Common Core!

Our meeting this month is  October 17th, at 7:00pm (library opens at 6:00pm).
 We will be meeting at Piedmont Park Alliance church!
Our speakers this month will be:

Meredith Mears is a stay-at-home mother of 2 daughters. Both are currently receiving a public school education in kindergarten and third grade. She has a college degree in communication disorders with a year in Speech Language Pathology. She is a co-founder and the NW State Coordinator of Florida Parents Against Common Core and has been fighting Common Core since January due to rising concerns over strange homework, her daughter's increased frustration in math, and the teacher's statements like "that's just the way we have to teach it."



Debbie Higginbotham is a stay-at-home mother of 6 with another blessing on the way. Her children's ages range from 22 months to 14 years old. She has 5 boys and 1 girl and is a step-mother to a 24 year old as well. She has a history of her children being educated in the public, private (Catholic school), and homeschooling atmospheres. She is a co-founder and the NE State Coordinator of Florida Parents Against Common Core and has been fighting Common Core for nearly 10 months.



It is their joint statement that parents know what's best for their children and believe in sovereignty over their education and future.
