We are excited to welcome back Brenda Dickinson to speak during
our meeting time this month! In addition to being a veteran homeschooling mom,
Brenda is our voice in Florida’s Capitol as she advocates for homeschooling
students and families. You can read Brenda’s full bio below.

Also at the February meeting:
- Children's Character Class: Children of all ages can learn about Godly character traits in this popular class taught by Jordin Hicks, which takes place during the meeting time.
- Field Trip Sign-Ups: Look for sign-up sheets at the check-in table for upcoming Spring Semester Field Trips!
- Box Tops Prize Drawing: There will be a prize at the meeting for the person who brings the most Box Tops that night. Participants will need to bring at least 100 to be eligible. Box Tops enable us to purchase additional resources for the TEACH Library, as well as to offer great events through the year.
- TEACH Lending Library: The TEACH Library will be available from 6 to 7pm. Come early to check out the wide selection of books, DVD's and CD's. If you borrowed items at the January meeting, they are due this month, so bring them back and borrow something new!
Brenda Dickinson and her husband, Craig, were pioneers in the
present-day home education movement. She served as president of TEACH in the
late 1980s. Brenda successfully home educated her two children from
kindergarten through high school. She has served as an advisor, consultant and
mentor to parents and has lectured on varied topics relating to home education. She served on the Advisory Board which lead to
the development of The Florida Virtual School, an award winning, nationally
recognized virtual school. She has represented the interests of home education
families on the Florida High School Athletics Association Public Liaison
Advisory Committee, on the Department of Education 2002 School Code Re-write
Task Force, the McKay Scholarship Task Force, and the Florida Department of
Education Articulating Coordinating Committee. She became the President of the Home Education
Foundation after the death of her husband in 1993. As a result of her work in
the Florida Capitol, home education students enjoy participation in dual
enrollment, Bright Futures Scholarships, extracurricular activities, the
Florida Virtual School.
